Take a ride on the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail

 gatlinburg.com

This narrow, winding one-way road takes you past mountain streams, log cabins, a grist mill, and some beautiful forestry. It is about five-and-half-miles long and loops so that you can see the entire area. You can stop and visit the Ogle farmstead before heading past Rainbow Falls. Park and take a hike to the falls, but be prepared as it is pretty steep. You can also see some of the homes that have been preserved in the area. The road is closed in the winter and large trucks or campers are not permitted.
