Go camping in the Great Smoky Mountains

 nps.gov

There are many different types of campsites available in the Great Smoky Mountains. Backcountry camping is for backpackers. These types of campsites have no amenities as you simply find a good spot to camp and settle in for the night. Frontcountry camping allows you to camp near your vehicle. The campgrounds have amenities such as restrooms, showers, fire pits and picnic tables. Some of these are designed for RV camping while most are better suited for tent campers. There are small campgrounds that are designed for horseback riders that offer hitches, but most sites are primitive. Camping is a great way for your family to reconnect as there are few distractions. Build a fire after dark, make some s’mores and talk about the sites you have seen that day.
