The Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge Airport is relatively small and is located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. GKT is the closest airport to Pigeon Forge, only about 15 minutes away. Because it is small, larger planes do not fly into the airport which means you may need to transfer from Knoxville McGhee Tyson or another larger airport to fly into this one. For this reason, this is the second most popular airport servicing the Pigeon Forge area. The airport is about half an hour from Gatlinburg.
