The entire month of October, Gatlinburg celebrates Oktoberfest, celebrating an event that originated in Munich, Germany. The first Oktoberfest in Germany celebrated the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig I and Princess Therese of Bavaria. Like that celebration, Gatlinburg’s includes beer, food, music and dancing. Enjoy some German bratwurst, schnitzel, strudel and other German dishes throughout the month. The Smoky Mountain Oompah Band performs at the Seasons of Ober Restaurant every night as well.
